Who Can Benefit

Who will benefit?

Beginners
Although many of the photographs feature more advanced exercises, there is a wide range of preparatory and intermediate level exercises. These will help a beginner to slowly build a solid base to work from. Once this is established it is possible to progress to more challenging work.

Injury
Pilates and Gyrotonic® are excellent rehabilitative tools. Although Pilates has a long association with the treatment of back conditions it can also help with injuries to the shoulders, knees, hips and ankles. We would be happy to contact your practitioner to discuss you injury and ensure that your program is tailored to your specific problem.

Seniors
Pilates and Gyrotonic® can relieve some of the stiffness, aches and pains associated with getting older. These techniques mobilise the joints, lubricating and nourishing the cartilage which can help with conditions such as osteoarthritis. Weight bearing Pilates can increase bone density, helping to combat osteoporosis.

Pregnancy
Pilates and Gyrotonic® can help relieve some of the extra strain the body is under during pregnancy. Your program will focus on strengthening the pelvic floor and abdominals early in your pregnancy. Later there will be much less abdominal and pelvic floor work, promoting flexible muscles for an easier birth. After your child is born your program can be adapted to recondition your abdominals to get back into shape.
